Pixelated Preview:
Sometimes the ROES thumbnails will appear extremely pixelated. Your image will not print pixelated with the following exception: Very large files that are used to print very small prints will print pixelated. Solution: Resize or crop your image in Photoshop or Lightroom before ordering your print. Ex. 20×30 at 300dpi image is used to print a 5×7 or smaller print.
Weird Colour Preview:
ROES thumbnails will appear with a pink/green/purple cast or extremely pixelated. ROES thumbnails are only previews and are not an accurate reflection of what your print will turn out to be. As long as your image is embedded with a sRGB or Adobe 1998 profiles, then your colour will be correct.

This message appears when you add an image which is less than half the recommended number of pixels for the size you are trying to order.
Even if you are uploading a “full resolution” image from your camera, this may not be big enough for many large sizes.
If you shoot in RAW, you may need to check your export settings. Many people export 11×17 or 12×18 images, but these may need to be re-exported at the size you would like to print at 300 dpi or higher if you need to crop.
For example,
11×17 at 300 dpi (dots per inch)
= 11×300 = 3,300 pixels by 17×300 = 4,950 pixels
You would like to order a 24×36 print
= 24×300 = 7,200 pixels by 36×300 = 10,800 pixels
Your “full resolution” image is less than half the size recommended for a 24×36 enlargement. We recommend that you re-export your image, then redo any Photoshop adjustments or retouching.
NOTE - if you are mid ROES order when making this type of change, it is very important to re-name your image into a NEW folder before continuing your ROES order.
-
In most print categories, you can add boxes, folders, portrait cases, and sometimes mats to your order without changing categories.
Look for the “Packaging Tab”
Note – In Apple computers, all the tabs do not appear. You will need to click on the “triangle” icon beside the packaging names to see the other products available for order.

-
Please note – changing your address in ROES DOES NOT CHANGE your shipping profile.

Then, change your ROES information in the START screen by clicking “logout”, changing the address, then click “login”.
-
You should only edit an image if you save as a NEW filename in a NEW folder.
For example, if you retouch a dust spot on the background, then save the image in a New folder with a NEW name nodust.jpg.
-
When ordering in ROES, please browse for a folder, not a single image. If you have saved your image on the desktop and have selected your desktop when browsing for images, the entire desktop will upload into the preview filmstrip either on the bottom or the side of your ordering screen.
To delete these previews, hold the ALT (OPT on Mac) key while clicking the first X and it will clear all the image folders from the pane.
-
Your ROES screen can change configurations and you may have inadvertently changed the way your screen is showing the previews and the options. There are small arrow icons that may have been clicked which have caused the option tabs to collapse.
-
Please shut down the ROES between each and every order. The ROES does not automatically reset between orders.
